Obituary

Donna Marie (Carns) Markley on December 3rd, 2017 at the age of 59, lost her short battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer and woke up in the arms of her Savior and was greeted by her mother, father, sister and those that have gone before her. She was a beautiful representation of the Provers 31 woman and her husband, sons, and granddaughters not only called her blessed, but have so greatly been blessed by her. Donna was the most selfless, caring, compassionate, God honoring woman I have ever known. Throughout the years she has given her time in volunteering at her churches and communities. She always kept her hands busy whether it was in her flower gardens, in her kitchen baking, quilting, sewing, crafting, caring for her four granddaughters, or writing notes of encouragement to family and friends. She always started her day with the Lord in her quiet time of study and readied herself for the days work ahead. This quiet, humble woman has touched many lives with her gentle and loving spirit and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Markley. Sons Seth Markley and Abraham (Stephanie) Markley. Granddaughters: Maranatha, Macaiah, Moriah, and Michaela. Brothers: Larry (Karen) Carns, Paul Carns, Dan (Deb) Carns, Dennis (Tari) Carns. Sisters: Diane (Roger) Rees, Kathy (Pete) Langlois, Lisa (Gary) Landsverk, Becky (Mike) Engelkes. Uncle Richard “Gus” (Sharon) Carns. Aunt Barbara Cupp, Aunt Elizabeth (Jim) Knutson. And a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Edward “Junior” Carns, mother Marie (Gant) Carns, and sister.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, followed by a time of fellowship. Pastor Glenn Andes will officiate. Burial will be at Big Patch Cemetery at a later date. In Lieu of flowers we ask that you consider donating to the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation www.ibcresearch.org/donations-fund-raising/. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Dear Seth and family, So sad and sorry to hear of this unimaginable loss. Over the ten plus years I have worked with you Seth, (you are my best friend at work) I have heard so many wonderful stories of your loving mother. Although I never met her, I felt I knew her through so many stories and pictures of your beautiful, happy, caring and compassionate family. I am heartbroken for your loss and hope that the days to come become easier for you to accept this huge loss. May legions of angels greet her and lead her to a place of refreshment, light and peace. Sincerely, Trish McLaughlin
