Obituary

Dorothy A. Haney, 84, of Platteville died on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Manor Care, Platteville. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at the Rock Church Cemetery, Livingston. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Dorothy A. Haney Memorial Fund. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com

Dorothy was born on November 29, 1933 in Platteville, Wisconsin, daughter of Erick and Nellie Mae (Oudyn) Meyer. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Haney on October 11, 1952 at the Platteville Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2016. Dorothy was a cook for the Platteville School District. She was a member of the Rebekah's and the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed square dancing, traveling, camping and going on day trips. She loved to tend to her gardens and to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, Randy (Jan) Haney, Linda (Arnie) Anderson all of Platteville; Sheryl (Terry) Waller of Dickeyville; four grandchildren, Samie (Joel) Kirkpatrick, Jake (Laura) Anderson, Jessica Anderson, and Erik Haney; three great-grandchildren, Eli and Lexi Anderson and Andrew Kirkpatrick; brother, Richard (Peg) Meyer and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
