She and her twin brother Donald were born March 25, 1931, at home in Lynn Hollow, Wisconsin. Her parents were Martha (Blum) and Arthur Fullbright, and other siblings included Lorraine (“Chub”), Evelyn, Marcella “Sal”, Virginia, and Melvin. The family moved to Burton, where Dory attended school through the 8^th grade. In her youth, she won a singing contest on the radio for her rendition of the gospel hymn The Great Speckled Bird.

She married LeRoy Reuter of Potosi and had two sons, Ron (Leilani Coe) and Rocky (Judy Heiar). Following a divorce, she married W. John Pitts of Platteville and had one son: Michael (Michelle Arthofer). Her grandchildren include, Melino Reuter, RJ Reuter, Dustin Reuter (Katie McCoy), Natalie Pitts, Kayla Young, and great-granddaughter, Jayla Westhoff. Her parents, siblings, LeRoy, John, and Michelle preceded her in death.

Dory was a dedicated and hard worker. As a child, she worked for her father tending to the needs of the Burton Cemetery, cleaning Burton area homes, and doing wash. After moving to Platteville, she worked full-time at Burgess Battery Factory for many years, then at Dick's Supermarket for 25 years as Head Cook in the restaurant and as cook in the deli, and went on to work full-time (and many over-time hours) at Land's End for 25 years. Whenever the subject came up, she emphasized, “I didn't retire until I was 84!”

She was an excellent cook, collected craft owls and roosters, enjoyed going to country music concerts with friends, and traveling to see her children and grandchildren. She regretted not being able to attend high school and she emphasized the importance of education to her children, she was proud that all three boys graduated from college.

John and Dory built a home in Platteville in 1970, where she lived until this past year. She briefly lived at Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster before moving to Platteville's Park Place Assisted Living, where she enjoyed playing cards and complaining about the food.

She recently spent time with her sister-in-law, Nicki Fullbright, in Albuquerque, following Don's passing, as well as, with nieces, nephews, and other family from Dubuque, southwest Wisconsin, and New Hampshire. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, and the family is thankful that she was able to enjoy Christmas among loved ones this year.
