Obituary
Donna J. Kittoe, 86, of Platteville died on Monday, February 5, 2018. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Platteville United Methodist Church. Rev. Brenda Whitford will officiate. Burial will be at the Prairie Cemetery, Fennimore. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Donna was born on April 4, 1931 in Boscobel, Wisconsin, daughter of Elwin and Amelia “Mollie” (Toltzein) Mathews. She grew up on a farm in Mt. Hope. After she graduated from high school she attended Platteville Teachers College, where she studied to become a teacher. She was then married to Dalven O. “Del” Kittoe on December 16, 1950, where she farmed for 40 plus years in Cuba City, WI. While farming, Donna was a member and Sunday school teacher at Georgetown Methodist Church, and a cook and baker at Jack's in Cuba City. After moving to Platteville she became a member of the United Methodist Church. She became a cook and baker at Ed's Café for many years. She was also a volunteer at the Platteville Thrift Shop from 2001 until 2009. She enjoyed cooking and baking, which was all done from scratch, crocheting, quilting, doing embroidery, gardening and dancing. She always enjoyed a good game of euchre and Skip-Bo with her wonderful neighbors, family, and friends.
She is survived by her four children, Ken (Nancy) Kittoe, Linda (Steve) Wand, Karen (Gary) Heileman, and John (Andrea) Kittoe; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Donald Mathews.
The family would like to THANK all the Home Care Select caregivers, especially Joyce Reider, her caring neighbors who always lent a helping hand, especially Shirley Edwards and Hank and Judy Bossenbroek for their visits and bringing Donna communion.
