Robert C. “Bob” Voigts, 81 years old, of Platteville, went home to have supper with Beverly on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Robert C. Voigts Memorial Fund. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Bob was born on December 2, 1936 in Platteville, Wisconsin, son of Clifford and Mildred (Bellmeyer) Voigts. He graduated from Platteville High School in 1956. Bob was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Schroeder on November 14, 1964 at Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2001. Bob was a lifelong farmer and steward of the land. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont, where he served on the church council. He belonged to the Odd Fellow's, the Grant County Holstein Assoc. and American Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed his Belgian Horses, showing cattle and his dogs. He loved following his grandchildren in all of their activities.

Bob is survived by seven children, Christine Voigts, Charlene (Scott) Nichols, Jolene (Mike) Martin, Denice (Dennis) Patterson, Dennis (Rose) Voigts, Julie (Corey) Tolle and David (fiance, Amie Stark) Voigts; 17 grandchildren; significant other, Char Harms; sisters, Mary (Richard Nachreiner) Billings and Beverly Colbert; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly and parents, Clifford and Mildred Voigts.

Dear Char and all of Bob's family...I am so very sorry to learn of Bob's passing. He was a good man and I'll cherish my memories of time at his kitchen table, times we were at the old truck stop in Platteville for a meal, and then at Country Kitchen. Geeesh...sounds like all we did was eat! My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time...especially thinking of you, Char. Nancy Broughton
