Obituary

Carol J. Taylor, 80, of Platteville died on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at UW-Hospital, Madison. Per Carol's wishes there will be no formal services. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is assisting the family. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com

Carol was born on September 17, 1937 in Maquoketa, Iowa, daughter of Lee and Evelyn (Eye) Taylor. She was married to Avolt Marzofka. Carol worked for 17 years at Wal-Mart, Platteville, where she was the “greeter” to many. She always enjoyed going to the Thrift Shop and Goodwill. She enjoyed nature, the outdoors, camping and traveling. Carol truly loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Curt Marzofka, Kim (Cory Klein) Weigel, Kevin (Jill) Marzofka, Carlene (Joe) Shaw and Connie (Chad) Marzofka-Vaassen; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Andresen and Lola (Jim) Marshall; two brothers, Roger (Debbie) Taylor and Eugene (Linda) Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, five sisters and five brothers.

I am so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. I worked with her at Walmart and enjoyed seeing her when she was out and about. She was a sweetheart and I have lost a friend. My condolences to all of you.

So sorry for your loss such a shock to me as she came out to thrift store last Monday visited with her for sometime she always had kind words and that smile will miss her so won't you Kim and rest of family
