Obituary

Irene Hale, 93, of Madison, formerly of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Capital Lakes Nursing Home, Madison. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Cornelia, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Irene's name to Agrace Hospice. Irene was born on July 12, 1924 in Potosi, WI, the daughter of Henry and Florence (Rupp) Richard. She worked at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Glenview Commons for 25 years.

Irene is survived by daughters, Thellis (Jack) Winder of Palm City, FL; Bonnie Hale of Madison; Judy (Craig) Wyman of Alliance, NE; sons, Larry (Judy) Hale of Cross Plains, WI; and John (Jean) Hale of Oconomowoc, WI; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Robert Richard.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agrace Hospice for their care given to Irene.

We knew Irene through the family of Larry & Judy Hale. We enjoyed her company at Thanksgiving and co-joined Birthday parties with her Great- grandchild, Cash Hale. To the Hale family we are very sorry to hear of her passing, she will be dearly missed by all who loved her. She can now have a long, well-earned rest. Peace be with you, Irene.

Dear family, Sorry to hear the news of your wonderful mother. Truely thought are with all . It’s losing her hard enough but learning to do thing without her is different. She raise a good hard working family . She touched so many lives in so many ways . The kind ,gently way ,the whole family has shown.
