Patsy “Pat” Jo Trentz, 86, of Platteville was reunited with the love of her life James “Jim” Trentz on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Epione Pavilion, Cuba City. A Celebration of Life will be at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Deacon Bill Bussan will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Memorials may be made to the Patsy J. Trentz Memorial Fund where the family will be establishing memorials in her name at Epione Pavilion and Grant County Hospice. Pat was born on January 25, 1932, the youngest of nine siblings in Platteville, daughter of George and Edith (Burkholder) Hull. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Trentz on July 26, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2002. Pat graduated from Platteville High School and went on to work at the Burgess Battery Factory until her daughter was born. Once her children were older she worked four years at UW-Platteville in food service. She especially enjoyed spending time with Jim at their home away from home in Prairie du Chien, where they loved to fish and host fish fries. Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved to spend time with family and friends, shop, play cards, and go out to eat.
Pat is survived by three children, Jayne (Tom) Osterholz of Platteville; Steve (Jan) Trentz of Prairie du Chien; George (Sharon) Trentz of Platteville; six grandchildren, Tim Osterholz, Tara Osterholz(John) Schultz, Michelle (Eric) Mohr, Jessica Jo (Mickey) Wright, Josh (Katie) Trentz, Michael (Emily Rowe) Trentz; seven great-grandchildren, Lincoln Schultz, Jordan Johnson, Payton, Talan and Jaxen Wright, Kinnley Trentz, Austin Schaffer, and one great-great-grandson, Wyatt Henry; two sisters, Betty Mook of Platteville and Nancy Seiler of Fountain Hills, AZ; three sisters-in-law, Joan Ostendorf of Platteville; Mary Schroeder of Franklin, WI; Marcia Trentz of Stoughton, WI; brother-in-law, George Trentz of Upland, CA; and many nieces and nephews, and a special forever friend, Anna Engelke. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Kenneth, Doug and Don, and sisters Maureen, Annadel and Kate.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the employees of Epione Pavilion for the wonderful care and love they showed Pat the past six years, especially the CNA Angels and to Sister Marion and Grant County Hospice.
