Obituary

Lynn M. Jinkins, 61, of Platteville, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at her home in Platteville. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Michael Short will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville at a later time. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Lynn was born on July 20, 1956 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, daughter of David C. and Ruth (Day) Jinkins. Lynn graduated from Platteville High School in 1974 at attended UW-Platteville. While in high school she completed courses at Southwest Technical College, Fennimore to be a CNA, and worked at Parkview Terrace Nursing Home (Manor Care). She worked at Advance Transformer, Platteville and Dick's Bakery. Many people remember Lynn from the many years she worked at the Windsor in Platteville. Lynn owned Hometowne Bakery and Carson's Cafe in Platteville, after closing the cafe, she worked for Dunkin Donuts for a short time. She enjoyed crafting, painting, sewing and crocheting. Lynn will always be remembered though for her baking, cooking and catering for many people. She took great pride in making wedding cakes and of course her turkey and dressing.

Lynn is survived by her sisters, Jayne Murphree and Karen (Ron Knutson) Forseth all of Platteville; nieces and nephews, Dan (Susy) Ketchum, Amy (Keith) Clark, Joe Murphree, Dave Murphree, Cory (Kim) Forseth, and Jody (Mike) Cryderman; great-nieces and nephews, Courtney and Colton (Tessa Ostendorf) Clark, Mackenzie and Brady Ketchum, Quinlan Murphree, Chloe and Carson Forseth and Jack Cryderman; aunts, uncles and many cousins. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, David and Ruth Jinkins.

Deepest sympathies to Lynn's family. She was a very unique person and one of the first persons I met when I moved to Platteville. 2 of my children worked with her at the Windsor. God Bless her.
