Viola Vesperman

Viola M. (Edge) Vesperman, 95, of Platteville, died on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville. Rev. Jeff Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Viola was born on June 20, 1922 in Grant Country, Ellenboro Township, to Robert H. and Mildred D. (Nohns) Edge. She attended Bunker Hill School and Platteville High School. She was united in marriage to Carson E. Vesperman on October 6, 1945 at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2013. Together she and Carson farmed in Bunker Hill District, Ellenboro Twp., for 44 years. They moved to Platteville in April 1989. Viola was active in Bunker Hill Mothers and Friendschip Club, her church, homemakers, sewing club, and the Ellenboro Farm Bureau. She attended senior swim class for 25 years at UW-Platteville. Viola enjoyed farming, cooking, being with friends, playing cards, and dancing. Her family, neighbors, and good friends were very special to her.

Viola is survived by one son, Pastor Richard (Nancy) Fuller of Chippewa Falls, WI; three grandsons, Scott (Kim) Fuller of Greendale, WI; Brian (Joelle) Fuller of Silver City, NM; Jeff Fuller of Oak Creek, WI; one granddaughter, Katie (Eddie) Crise of Webster, WI; five great-granddaughters, Hannah (Nathan) Clauser, Abigail, Victoria and Alyssa Fuller, Mary Beth Crise; one great-grandson, Jackson Fuller. In addition she is survived by two sisters-in-law, Bernice Judd of Lancaster and Louise Turner of Dubuque; a number of nieces, nephews and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carson; two brothers, Burnell R. Edge and LaVern D. Edge, their wives, Cleone and Phyllis Edge; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Vesperman, Coriene Wilkins, Vera Muldon; and brother-in-law, Louie Vesperman. Vie was blessed with many special friends and neighbors who helped and supported the family over the years.
