Gerold Barrett

Gerold “Michael” Barrett, 60, Suamico, Wisconsin, formerly of Belmont, Wisconsin, died with his family by his side on Saturday, July 7, 2018 after a battle with cancer.

He was born on January 12, 1958 in Hazel Green, to Gerold “Jerry” and Patricia (Aurit) Barrett. Mike was a graduate of Belmont High School, Class of 1976. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where he received his degree in Industrial Engineering.

For the last 18 years, Mike was employed with American Foods Group. He loved going to work and was passionate about his job. Due to his illness, he took a leave of absence as a plant manager. Mike enjoyed hunting trips out west and fishing trips up north.

Mike is survived by his wife, Rosa (Montejano) Barrett; mother, Patricia (Aurit) Barrett; three brothers, Patrick (Nancy) Barrett, Mark Barrett and Richard Barrett; a mother-in-law, Armandina Montejano; three brothers-in-law, Eliazar (Patricia) Montejano, Jose Montejano, Alejo (Aurora) Montejano; nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerold; a father-in-law, Alejo Montejano.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 13, with the Funeral Service being held at 6 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Noon, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Belmont. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Belmont. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is assisting the family with local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Mike's name. Mike's family extends their gratitude to the Rosen family and to American Foods Group for their kindness and generosity given to him.
