Beth, I'm so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Very fond memories of him at the pool. What an amazing diver. I was on a backpacking trip with him in the Rockies in the early 1980s. As a kid, I always called him Dean Linden. I was in high school before I realized Dean was his title, not his name. When I told him that in the mountains, he couldn't look at me without laughing.

It was my honor to meet him at several of the Leadership Awards Ceremonies. We really enjoyed having him participate in the festivities. My heart goes out to the family. He was a great Pioneer!

Joe was one of the really good guys! I enjoyed his friendship and his humor - he had an infectious laugh. We played a lot of fastpitch softball together, both as teammates and competitors in the 50's and 60's. Rest in peace, my friend, you have earned it.

Lloyd and I were together with the Combat Support Unit of the National Guard in Platteville. We , along with others, made the trip to Fort Lewis Washington in 1961. After returning from Fort Lewis and returning to College, Lloyd was an instructor in one of the classes I attended. Lloyd was the perfect gentleman always greeting you with a smile and a friendly hello. I had a lot of respect for the man and remember him well.

I am sorry to hear of Dean Linden passing. I enjoyed Lloyd in many ways while I spent four years in Plattville, I lived in Melcher hall and he was the adult in the dorm. He made me study many times, I thank him now. Sorry Glen
