John was born in Platteville, Wisconsin, on his dad's birthday, January 8, 1945. The son of Donald Earl and Frances Irene (Cardy) Dressler. John spent his whole life on the family farm where he developed a love of Minneapolis-Moline Tractors and old country music. He graduated from Platteville High School in 1963. John worked at Mississippi Valley Forest Products for 20 years. He also owned and operated his own saw mill, Tri-State Forest Products, before going to work for Roh's Automart, where he earned the nickname “LJ,” and Pioneer Ford, retiring from both after years of service as a detailer. John enjoyed the people that he worked with and developed some great friendships. John also enjoyed annual morel mushroom feeds that he held at the farm. He was a second father to his niece, Laura, and his nephew, Lee, as they spend much time together going shopping, swimming, or to a movie.

John is survived by his brother, Gerald (Linda) Dressler of Dickeyville; niece, Laura (John) Lee of Potosi; nephew, Lee (Meghan) Dressler of Marshall, WI; great nephews, Chase, Kedrick, and Alton Lee; and his sister-in-law, Donna Dressler of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Dressler.

Rest in peace, John. I have very fond memories of you, your brothers, and your families farm. We had some great times as children running around and exploring that wonderful farm. I enjoyed the times that the Cardy Family had get togethers at each others homes. They were wonderful times to really get to know one another and have a lot of fun as children. You will always be fondly remembered. Love you, John. Your cousin, Clarence w. Iverson, Jr.

I have known John since high school. My husband graduated from Platteville High School with Him. Did 't get to see him a lot mostly at the reunions but always enjoyed his company. Sympathy and prayers to his family.
