Nola J. “Mimi” Klar, 79, of Muscoda, formerly of Lancaster, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Gracious Way Assisted Living in Muscoda. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Ramona Orton will officiate. Burial will be at St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery, Tennyson, at a later date. Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Melby Funeral Home or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Nola was born on March 15, 1939 in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Viola (Parrish) Kehoe. After Nola graduated from Platteville High School in 1956 she then moved to Dubuque, Iowa where she worked at the dime store. While working at the dime store she met the love of her life, Isadore Klar, they were then married on October 22, 1960 in Dubuque, Iowa. A few years later Nola and Isadore moved to Lancaster where she then worked for LCC and the Pine Grove Motel. Nola was very well known for her crafting ability and her baked goods. She spent many Saturdays at the local farmer's market selling her homemade goods. Some of the fan favorites were cinnamon rolls, bread, and especially her Christmas candy, chocolate covered cherries and pecan logs. Nola also enjoyed going to various different locations to have coffee and conversation with her friends. She was an overall friend to all and was a very giving and caring person.
Nola is survived by her daughter, Deb (Les ladd) Washa; step-children, Jim Klar, Elmer Klar, and Christine (Ron) Schlosser; grandchildren, Daniel Hale, Justin Hale, and RaeAnn Pearce; step-grandchildren, Joy Klar-Brandt, John Klar, Nathan Klar, Natalie Klar-Gebhard, and Julie Hartlep; and several great-grandchildren; four siblings, Mary (Ray) Hartz, Melvin (Sue) Kehoe, Delvin Kehoe, and Alice (Fred) Hicks. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Isadore in April of 2003; step-brothers, Ronnie and Robert Matthews; grandson, Anthony Russell; and son-in-law, Joe Washa.
