Obituary

Jean M. Wolf, 84, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. Fr. John Blewett and Deacon Bill Bussan will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jean Wolf Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Jean was born on April 10, 1934, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Francis and Marie (Fuerstenburg) Duggan. She was raised in the Fountain Bluff area. Jean attended Stumptown Country School, St. Mary's Catholic School, and the Platteville High School. On June 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Donnie Wolf, and they were married for 60 years. Jean was employed at Ed's Cafe, Burgess Battery Factory, and A.Y. McDonald. She finished her career as a cook at UW – Platteville, where she retired in 1994 after 29 years. Jean was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she volunteered her time. She had a love for the outdoors, especially boating, water skiing, and fishing on the Mississippi River. Her love for cooking was always enjoyed by her family and friends. She loved attending programs and sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Jean loved attending family picnics and gatherings where she always had her camera ready. She and Donnie also loved to visit Branson with family and friends.

Jean is survived by her three children, Dan (Donna) Wolf of Babbitt, MN; Jack (Vicki) Wolf of Platteville; and Debie (Duane) Arnold of Hartland, WI; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Francine (Oren) Dimick and Carol Wunderlin; sister-in-law, Beth Duggan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donnie; parents, Marie and Francis Duggan; step-father, Guerdon Buch; mother and father-in-law, Archie and Edna Wolf; brother, Merle Duggan; brothers-in-law, Stan Wunderlin and Robert Wolf; and sisters-in-law, June Kuhls and Marion Wolf. The family would like to thank members and staff at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Dr. Lucas, Dr. Sukhwahl, Manor Care Nursing in Platteville, St. Mary's Church and Deacon Bill Bussan, and St. Croix Hospice in Platteville for their compassion and loving care.

I will always remember your mom, Debie, as a person who was sweet and welcoming. I remember our visit to her home with my 4 kids when they were younger. I will miss seeing her at your family parties. I'm so sorry for your loss.
