Orlin Andrew

Orlin L. Andrew, 81, of Platteville, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2018 at Manor Care, Platteville. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev Zayna Thomley will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Cornelia. Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 10:00 am. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Orlin was born on July 24, 1937 in Platteville, son of Orrin and Lois (Chandler) Andrew. He attended Rock School and Platteville High School. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Virginia Becker on September 7, 1957. He was a member of the 128^th Infantry of the National Guard from 1955 until 1962. After active duty, he continued to farm and work at John Deere for 31 years. He was a lifelong member of the Mt. Zion Congregational Church, Cornelia. He loved animals, especially his sheep and lambs. Orlin and Virginia enjoyed many trips to Branson, Nashville and Las Vegas.

Orlin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia, son, Jeff Andrew, three grandchildren, Jeff, Jr. (Ashlee) Andrew, Ashley (Aaron) Howard, and Rachael (Tony) Lee. Orlin was proud of his great-grandchildren, Lily Rose, Jackson Howard and Re'mia Lee. He is also survived by seven brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Pat) Becker, Kathryn (Frank) Beyer, Karen (Wayne) Hoffman, David “Mike” (Deb) Becker, Marshall Becker, Bonnie Becker and Dennis Becker, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-in-law, Roger (Barb) Becker, Wayne “Tom” (Linda) Becker, Daniel (Vi) Becker and sister-in-law, Janet Hoffman.
