She was born May 7th, 1945 in Platteville WI, the daughter of Richard and Marie Kramer Ludwig. Edna attended Bunker Hill Country School and graduated from Platteville High School.

While still in high school, Edna started working as a nursing assistant. She held positions as an activity aide and activity director at the Platteville Municipal Nursing Home and then became activity director of Southwest Health Center. In 2009, she retired due to health issues after dedicating 47 years to caring for the elderly as a healthcare professional. Edna enjoyed farming, nature, flowers, art, poetry, and a good conversation with a child. She believed in God and caring for this earth. She enjoyed sports, especially cheering on the Badgers, Packers and North Dakota State Bison. She treasured a good Bloody Mary with a friend, her friendships with neighbors and spending time with family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, grace in handling life, kindness to others and love of a cold Busch Lite.

Edna is survived by her sister, Karen Habel of Platteville; nephews, Rodney (Lois) Habel of Downers Grove IL, Mark (Kristy) Burkholder of Puyallup WA; niece, Gretchen (Daniel) Butts, Spring Green WI; great-nieces, Lainie, Karissa, McKenna, Holly, Taylor, Allison, Alex, Emma; great-nephew, Dakota; great-great-niece, Kennedy “Buttercup”, and forever friend Dean Feldman. My sympathy to Edna's family. Edna was always such a caring person who found joy in so many aspects of life. She was strong and I often thought of her as the North Star who provided guidance and light to many. May her light continue to shine within all of us!
