Obituary

Dave J. Rogers, 77, of Menomonee Falls, formerly of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly on Monday March 11, 2019.  Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 1:00 PM until time of Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at ST. MATTHEWS EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1615 N Wauwatosa Ave, Wauwatosa. Additional visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial to St. Matthews Ev. Lutheran Church, Wauwatosa, or Town North Presbyterian Church, Richardson, TX, www.tnpc.org deeply appreciated.  The Schmidt & Bartel Funeral Home in Wauwatosa and the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, are serving the family.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ruth (Nee Mohlman); his children, Debra (Allan) Land of Menomonee Falls and David (Kelly) Rogers of Richardson, TX; his grandchildren, Morgan (Bryce Figueroa), and Trevor Land, Tianna (Taylor) Johnson, Haley (Andy) Cash, Celine, Josiah, and Liliana Rogers; his sister, Elizabeth (Larry) Spees, sister-in-law, Eileen Dresser, and large extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Helen Rogers, brothers-in-law, Harold and Arnold Mohlman.

dear ruth: so sorry to learn of dave`s death. laurie and i are in tucson arizona where our daughter, ashley, and her family live for the winter. dave was a wonderful human being. i thoroughly enjoyed our time together reviving the platteville area industrial development corporation and golfing together. he will be sadly missed. i wish you and your family the very best at this sad time. warm regards, thom and laurie geyer

Dear Liz... I am saddened to read of your brother's passing. Losing a sibling is not easy...the older we get the more we think we'll have our siblings forever. My sister, Barb, passed over eight years ago...and I know the deep grief does get a bit easier as the memories take over. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and all of Dave's family... To the Rogers Family, I have many fond memories of Dave from my Bantam, Junior and Senior bowling days, all the tournaments and award banquets as well as babysitting for the kids. I offer my sincere condolences to your family and will keep you in my prayers.

Dear Ruth and Family, Don and I are so saddened to hear of Dave's death and know you will miss him greatly. We always think of you as we get ready for or are together at the class reunions in particular. My Dad always so enjoyed being with Dave's father through the years and missed him with his passing. We are in Colorado at this time with our daughter who is facing some serious health issues or we would certainly have driven to Platteville to give our regards and to remember that heart-warming smile and generous spirit always showing through the two of you. Ruth, Debbie, and Jeff: We were so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We had a lot of great memories through the years bowling, golfing, with the Optimist Club, and at and after basketball games.
