Clifford was born on June 27, 1930 on the home farm in Lafayette County, Wisconsin, the son of Henry and Lucinda (Steinhoff) Schult. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1948. On January 9, 1954 he was united in marriage to Vada Reese at the Peace Lutheran Church in Belmont. Shaley farmed at the home farm until retiring in 1994 and moving to town; he then worked at Land's End in Dodgeville for 10 years. He enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, and socializing around town. Shaley especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whether it be taking them for rides on the John Deere tractor or going to their sporting events; he was always there for them and so enjoyed the time spent together.
Clifford is survived by his loving wife, Vada, of 65 years; four daughters, Linda Kohout, Mary (Dave) Allen, Karla (Steve) Nowak, and Tammi (Davey) White; ten grandchildren, Jason (Kate) Kohout, Megan Kohout, Chris (Sara) Allen, Ryan (Jenni) Allen, Victoria (Brandon) Pierick, Luke Nowak, and Cody, Jesse, Dana, and Nicole White; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lucinda; an infant sister; sister and brother-in-law, Frances (Lawrence) Carl; and mother and father-in-law, Thelma and Harold Reese. Memorials may be made to the Clifford W. Schult Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Edenbrook and Grant County Hospice for their wonderful care.
