Obituary

John F. Petronis, 81, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where military rites will be accorded at 7:00 p.m. by American Legion Post #42 and VFW Post #5274. John was born on May 3, 1937 in Mechanicville, New York, son of Bernard and Alice (Myers) Petronis. John served in the United States Army where he was an MP. He was united in marriage to Shelly Blindert on November 14, 1986 in Lancaster, Wisconsin. John was an electrician where he worked in Lima, Ohio, he then moved to Platteville and worked at Advance Transformer for many years as an electrician and also as a supervisor. After Advance Transformer closed he started his own company, Affordable Electric, Platteville. He enjoyed the outdoors, where he liked to golf, boat, ride motorcycles, and go deer hunting. John always enjoyed a good cigar with a beer and getting together with friends.

John is survived by his wife, Shelly; sister-in-law, Rose Petronis; mother-in-law, Carol Blindert and her family; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Joseph Kehoe; brother, Kenneth Petronis; niece, Patricia Petronis; and father-in-law, Vernon Blindert.

I am sorry for your loss. The love his family has for him runs deep. Uncle Jack as I’ve always known him is a man held in high esteem. The stories of him told by his family are legendary. RIP
