Alice C. Loeffelholz – Hanson, 90, of Rewey, Wisconsin, died on Friday, June 7, 2019 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Belmont. Father Michael Tarigopula will officiate. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Belmont. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass on Tuesday, at the church. Alice was born on July 29, 1928 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Viola (Arnsdorf) Scheckel. She was united in marriage to Paul Loeffelholz on October 1, 1949 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa. To this union they had seven children. Paul preceded Alice in death on September 28, 2002. She was later united in marriage to Robert Hanson on May 11, 2009 at St. Philomena Catholic Church. Alice enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and feeding and watching the birds. She also enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. Most of all, though, Alice was a wonderful mother and grandmother, she so loved the times she got to spend with her grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hanson; seven children, David (Joan) Loeffelholz, Eileen (Roger) Udelhofen, Louella Loeffelholz, Juliana Bishop, Alan (Donna) Loeffelholz, Daniel “Lefty” (Lisa) Loeffelholz, and Jean (Kevin) Wehrspann; five step-children, Robert, Vicki, Judy, Debbie, and Kevin; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Gladys O'Brein, AnnaMae (Galen) Smith, and Allen (Karen) Scheckel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Paul Loeffelholz; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillian (Mike) Hird, Margaret (Walter) Speare, Mary (Urban “Barney”) Wiegel, and Kay Scheckel.
