We first learned to know and love Gwendolyn and Ed in church as they were both very active in the United Methodist Church when we moved here. He was a man of faith. Tom also got to work with Ed at the university on education committees. Later he was part of Tom's foursome in golf and had an enjoyable time on the golf course together. After he lived in the assisted living and at Epione, Tom visited with him regularly and enjoyed his stories, his jokes, his books, and his slides. We had some great visits and always ended with some Bible passage and prayer and sometimes communion. We feel blessed to have known Ed over these years and know that he is at peace with his dear wife and the Lord he loved. Our sympathy to his dear family.

Dear Celeste, Ron & family: My deepest condolences to you all. Ed was a wonderful, intelligent, & giving person. I am so sorry I didn't get to be with & get to know better he & Gwen. Uncle Butz & Aunt Elaine thought so much of them both. They always looked forward to their visits. Ed's sense of humor was delightful & as a fellow teacher I appreciated his years of experience & expertise. Please know that you all are in my thoughts & prayers. My love & sincerest wishes to you & all the family.

Gwen and family Remembering Gwen and family with special thoughts and prayers during this time in your life. Ed was my mentor when I arrived Platteville in the late 80s. He was always kind and loving both in the department and at home. He invited me to his church many times. May his soul rest in peace.
