Oh, how sad. Nell was an amazing woman. I was lucky to be one who could call Nell my second mom. Oh, the times making ice cream on the patio, the games we played in the empty lot, sleep overs, picnics at the Belmont Mound...just so much! My sympathies to you, Peter. I will so miss her!

What can I say about Nell? She was a fun and encouraging grandmother to our kids and a wonderful neighbor to all of us. She sent a man in a pirate costume to Tyler’s birthday party, and helped Sarah run a kitten in a basket up and down three stories with a pulley. She hid jelly beans in plastic Easter eggs so early in the morning that crows cracked into all of them by the time we got up. She baked me a Halloween birthday cake that looked like a black cat, and the frosting stained our teeth. She gave Sarah a real floor-standing gum ball machine. But most of all, she simply loved us.
