Obituary

James W. “Jim” Nodorft, 82, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Saturday February 1, 2020 at home. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where military rites will be accorded by VFW Post #5274 and American Legion Post #42. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Jim was born in Harrison Township on February 8, 1937 to William and Shirley (Tracy) Nodorft. He graduated from Platteville High School in 1954. On June 4, 1966 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Breuer. Jim served in the United States Army from December 1962 until December 1964. Jim farmed until retired in 1998 where he then drove school bus for 16 years. He also served at the clerk for Smelser Township for 34 years.

Jim is survived by his wife, Phyllis; three children, Allen (Cami) Nodorft, Shelley (Monte) Molencamp, and Jeffrey (Martha) Nodorft; grandchildren, Mikayla, Michael, Carmen, Timothy, Garrett, Gregory, and Teagan Nodorft, and Tyler, Andrew, Jenna, and Molly Molencamp; brother, Dale (Karen) Nodorft; sisters, Romelle (Harold) Doering, Sandra (Terry) Ramaker, and Linda (James) Lang. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Claire Ward; and sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Rickard Fox.
