Bethel Edge

Bethel A. Edge, age 99, formerly of Lancaster, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Shorehaven Health and Rehab, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Bethel was the daughter of Henry & Mabel (Keene) Woolf, Platteville, Wisconsin. She was born at home in Ellenboro township on February 26, 1921.

She was married in 1939 to Kenneth Jones, Platteville, Wisconsin. They divorced on 1941. Bethel was united in marriage to Paul M Edge on 10/15/1943. Bethel and Paul farmed in Ellenboro township (Buckwheat Ridge) until Pauls death in 1998. They had 54 years together and spent 52 of those years farming on Buckwheat Ridge. She enjoyed singing, dancing, playing the piano, and the guitar, and growing some of most fantastic flower and vegetable gardens you had ever seen. She had a heart as big as the great outdoors itself, and over the years helped guide people through bad times of their own. She was fed up with the bad and wickedness in the world and we are sure it is a relief to be done with it.

Bethel is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Shambeau Bryant, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; and one son Randy (Vicky) Edge, Eagan, Minnesota. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousin. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Kenneth, husband Paul, sons, Elton (Buck) Jones and Gary E. Edge. Also preceding her in death was her 2 sisters, Leila (Lloyd) Johanns, and Janice (Victor) Anderson and brother-in-laws Ray and Carl Edge.  The family would like to thank Shorehaven for their love and respectful care for their mother. They made her final years pleasant and enjoyable as they could be. She felt truly blessed having someone taking such great care of her.
