Seeing this notice from Melby that Elsie had passed broke my heart. I would search her out when I shopped at Piggly Wiggly. She made me laugh. We used to talk about Jesus… She used to scold me for buying liquor. I told her that it wasn’t for me it was for my friends . She told me I needed to get new friends! Just the thought of her makes me smile. My condolences to her family. I truly feel your loss. It does give me comfort to know that she went to heaven when she died. God bless you all.

Please know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers. Your mom was a very hard working sweetheart of a lady. We would purposely go through her check out line at Piggly Wiggly. Heaven gained a hard working angel. Peace be with you

Dear Chuck and family: Very sorry to read of Elsie passing. While the Class of 65 is spread out all over the country, we are still a close family after 55 years and we all grieve upon the news of any family loss. We are thinking of you today.

I was so sad to hear that Elsie had Covid and it breaks my heart to hear that she has passed. I always looked for her at the check out to visit with her and enjoyed our little hurried chats. She told me about the apple cider vinegar and honey tea that I have it to this day. I will miss seeing her there but will think of her when I am walking up to the check out lanes and also when I am drinking my tea. My prayers and love to all her family at this time of her passing. I, too, wanted to be in Elsie's line at the Pig and I will always remember her as an excellent representative of the store. My condolences to Elsie's family as you share happy memories during this stressful time. God bless Elsie for being a ray of sunshine as we checked out in her line!
