Charlie and Kellie spent many years at their vacation home on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He enjoyed the outdoors and water, traveling, camping, canoeing, sailing, and especially bicycling. His latest interest was learning how to fly model airplanes. He was a member of the Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, EAA and recently joined the Academy of Model Aeronautics.

He is survived by his sons, Doug (Emily) Knox and Will Knox; granddaughter, Kiera; sister, Callie (Jordan) Hopkins, brothers, Andrew Knox and Bill (Kate) Knox; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death also by his parents.

On the morning of his death, Charlie and Will went for a bike ride and test flew a model airplane they had built together. He always moved forward. He never complained. He will be missed.

Charlie was truly a man of science and nature. He understood that the two "sciences" work together. Glad to hear he had a ride on his last earthly day. Now he will view science from a new perspective. Condolences to Charlie's family.

I worked with both Charlie & Kellie for years in the SWTC General Education Division. Charlie was a great teacher and had the greatest sense of humor when we needed it the most. He will be missed. My sympathy to his family and other friends. Paul Murphey, Retired Communication Instructor (SWTC)

I knew Charlie when we were students at Bloomfield High School. He was one of my first friends there. We kept in touch after graduation and he even visited me here in Wisconsin - I think that’s when he decided to return here for awhile… He was a person of intelligence and kindness. I will miss his presence in the world. May his memory be for a blessing.
