June Steffen - When I think of June I think of the kind of person everyone wants to be their mother. She was kind, loving, and could also tell you her opinion. Teaching at the Platteville Middle School I got to be good friends with June. Her smile uplifted my spirits daily. We both shared a mutual love for baseball from Platteville Little League, to Platteville High School and Home Talent League baseball. She knew how my children were doing at all levels of the game. When my wife was at ParkPlace we would play kick ball with June and other residents. The first time Carolyn and I joined the kick ball group June wisely told me to put my coffee down. Right as she said that the ball hit may arm and the coffee went flying. We all had a good laugh together. I miss her and we all will. If there is baseball in heaven she will be very happy like when her sons' team won the only Platteville High School state baseball championship. Remembering a fine lady, Kent Scheuerell
