Sending this note on behalf of my mother, Juanita Swift. Barb lived next to us on Main Street in Benton for many years. Mom and Barb were very good friends there and continued that friendship in Platteville through St. Mary's Church for many more years. She is sorry for your tremendous loss and sends her sympathy.

Dave and I have wonderful memories of spending time with Barb and our walking group at Park Place. After walking, we enjoyed a cup of coffee or tea and lots of talking and laughing as a group. We had lots of good times going out to different outings and restaurants for lunch. Barb was a great person and will be dearly missed by all. Our condolences to Barb’s family. With love and prayers from Dave and Marie Langkamp

I am a granddaughter of Genevieve Baxter from Benton. I believe your mother was a neighbor to my grandma. I also substitute taught for her a couple times at St. Mary's. My niece is Michelle Gassman/Jenson. My sister is Sara Gassman. I also have a nephew Eric Mester with Down's and has lived with me and my husband for 10 years in Mineral Point. I would always follow Eric in Special Olympics and school and I remember Tom. Eric now attends the Hodan Center in Mineral Point. My heart goes out to you folks. I remember her being a lady of grace, wisdom and kindness. I will light a candle at our church for her. I also student taught at St.Mary's and she gave me much needed advice about disciplining with firmness but love.
