Rodney G. LaBarge, 55, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Friday, April 22, 2022. Per Rod's request there will be no formal services at this time. He will be buried at Whig Cemetery, rural Platteville. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is assisting the family. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com

Rodney was born on May 24, 1966 in Dubuque,Iowa, son of Roger and Donna (Udelhoven) LaBarge. He graduated from Platteville High School and later from Southwest Tech, Fennimore, where he studied to become a butcher. He served in the Unites States Navy. For many years he did custodial work at UW- Platteville and also for the Platteville Community School District. He enjoyed fishing and hunting as a young man. He liked to camp, go antiquing, and to work on small engines in his spare time.

He is survived by his two children, Jorden (Savannah) Faherty and Steven LaBarge; two grandchildren, Julia and Bodhi; father and step-mother, Roger and Doris LaBarge; brother, Scott (Pam) LaBarge; nieces, Sarah LaBarge and Cecelia (Kolton) Greenwood. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Donna and Mel Watters, brother, Barry and nephews, Cord and Gavin LaBarge.

My deepest condolences! Your family are in my thought and prayers. I visited with Rodney last summer and always enjoyed his stories about his time in the Navy and about his family. My son is in the Military so his stories always offered me comfort. I will truly miss seeing and visiting with him in the community. He was always a delight to converse with. Hugs and prayers!
