Steve was born on July 16, 1959, the son of Robert “Bob” and Florence (Tindell) Udelhofen. Steve grew up in Platteville with his parents and two brothers. They all loved to golf, hunt, fish, bowl, and play ball. Steve played basketball, golf, and baseball during his school years and graduated from Platteville High School in 1977. Steve met the love of his life, Tina Gerlach, and they were married on June 19, 1981. They started their family in Platteville then moved to Newton, Iowa, to finish their family and make it their home. They loved watching their kids in all of their sporting events. Steve ran the Elk's Lodge for a couple years and went on to run a convenience store called, Juice and Junk. From there, their careers took them to Sauk City, WI, where Steve ran Star Flooring. After Tina passed away in 2010 and the boys had all graduated high school, Steve decided to move back to Platteville to be closer to family. While back in Platteville, he worked for Nordstroms in Dubuque, helped at K & K Flooring in Platteville, and ran the food and bar at the Platteville Country Club with his sister-in-law, Ann.

Within the past 17 years, Steve gained nine grandchildren, with his oldest grandson taking after his bowling talents, he was so proud! Steve enjoyed going to visit his children and their families. He was very active in many aspects; golf league with family and friends, bowling league with his youngest son and brother, going to the cabin in Warrens with Rob and Ann, fishing, and hunting. He got to spend his last hunt with his brother and best friend, Rob, telling stories and bonding, but not shooting any deer! Steve's best moments in life where moments spent with his three boys and their beautiful wives, his grandchildren, his brother, and so many other family members and friends.

Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Thank You for being part of all of our lives, you brought us so much love, joy, and happiness. You will forever be in our hearts and minds! You will never be forgotten. Until we meet again, fly high with the Angels! - All our love.

Steve is survived by his three sons, Justin, and his children, Austin, Dylan, Destiney, and Bentley; Steven (Emily) and their children, Steven James “SJ” and Violet; and Shannon (Kassidy) and their children, Landon, Aurora, Kastiel, and Temperance; brother, Rob (Ann) Udelhofen and their children, Jesse, Joshua, and Jamie. He was preceded in death by parents, Bob and Florence; his wife, Tina; and brother, Michael. The family would like to express a special Thank You to Agrace Hospice for all they did for Steve and the family. Also, a special Thank You to family and friends who helped in so many ways on this journey.

Our sympathies to the Udelhofen family on the loss of Steve. Some of my memories of Steve go back to the 70's and they are good memories as in baseball. Larry

So sorry to see this. I worked with Steve at Nordstrom’s. Honestly, he was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Great guy with a good heart. Always friendly and always a smile on his face.

I am so sorry for your loss. Steve was a very kind man, sharing his time and talents with me, someone he did not know. But his son and daughter in law asked for his help and he selflessly came to help me out. Till we meet again in Paradise sleep peacefully.
