Obituary

Steven Wayne Sagehorn, 68, of Platteville, WI died peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Meriter Hospital, Madison. Steve was born in Tomah, WI September 1, 1955 to Mary Ellen and Wayne Sagehorn. Steve attended Cassville schools, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Platteville and the School of Cytology at University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Steve is survived by his wife Nancy Seline Sagehorn, Platteville; children John [Brent] of Denver, CO, Dave [Luke] of Seattle, WA and Kara Genin [Steven] and their children Natalie and Henry of Janesville WI.

He is further survived by his sister Susan [Carl] Uppena of Cassville; their son Joe [Melissa] Uppena and children, and son Jim Uppena; and his brother Dave [Kathy] Sagehorn of Waunakee and Naples, FL, and their daughters Corey [Kevin] Brown and son and Jennifer Sagehorn. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Mary Ellen and Wayne Sagehorn, Cassville, WI; his in-laws Helen and Richard Seline of Rockford, IL, and niece Jill Uppena. 

Per Steve's wishes there will be no funeral or visitation. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family.  Memorials to honor Steve and his family may be made in his name to: Platteville Music Boosters, SouthWest Health Emergency Medical Services or the Platteville Public Library. A heartfelt thank you to the SWHC ER staff, the MedFlight team, and Meriter Hospital ICU staff and medical teams for all the care and compassion they showed to Steve and his family.

Nancy and family - so sorry to hear this news. Steve and I had many laughs together. He made my first 3 years as a CT working alongside him most enjoyable. I wish you all comfort and peace.
