Obituary

Richard J. “Boomer”/ ”Rick” Bloom, 66, of Blue River formerly of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from cancer.  Memorial services celebrating Rick's life will be at 6:00 PM, Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate.  Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.  Memorials may be made to the Richard J. Rick was born on June 13, 1959, in Platteville, the son of Duane “Bud” and Patricia “Pat” (Lange) Bloom.  He was married to Ginger Rupp on September 17, 2022, on the tractor pulling ground at Legion Field, Platteville.  Ricky worked as a farmhand for Steve Weigel and for Gabe and Gary Loeffelholz for many years.  He liked to fish, hunt, go camping and do woodworking.   He loved to be involved in tractor pulling and demolition derbies.

Rick is survived by his wife, Ginger, children, Joey Bloom, Jamie Cliff, Jen (Andrew) Schluenz, James Bloom, Chris (Marissa) Loew and Kendra Stevenson, fourteen grandchildren, sisters, Sherry Chandler and Kathy Esser, brother, Bob (Jane) Bloom and mother-in-law, Jane Probst.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jordan Beeseker, sisters, Bonnie Bloom and Robin Bloom and father-in-law, Virgil Rupp.

So sorry to hear of his passing I known him for many years being around the Gregory bunch. The demo derby and what not. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him
