Obituary

Patricia Mae Kliebenstein, 96, of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday,

February 11, 2024. She was born on February 14, 1927, the daughter of Emory and

Charlotte (Slack) Johnsen.

 


Patricia married Clayton Kliebenstein on January 11, 1947, at the First English Lutheran

Church in Platteville. She continued to be a member of the church throughout her life.

Patricia taught in a one-room country schoolhouse before becoming a substitute

teacher in Belmont, Wisconsin, where she taught for many years. She was a

homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking, traveling, crossword puzzles and wintering in

Arizona. She was also an avid basketball fan. Patricia took pleasure in following her

grandchildren and their school activities.

 


Patricia is survived by her three children: LuAnn Kliebenstein and Jeffrey (Carol)

Kliebenstein of Platteville, Wisconsin, and Patricia Hamilton-Borde of Ponte Vedra

Beach, Florida; four grandchildren: Whitney (Brandon) Weis and Michael (Shelby)

Kliebenstein of Platteville, Wisconsin, and Holly Turner of Milwaukie, Oregon, and Greg

(Beth) Alix of Temecula, California; eleven great-grandchildren: Whitney& Brandon's children: Ava,

Grayson, Harper and Levi Weis; Michael & Shelby's children: Mya Arroyo and baby boy due in

March; Holly's children: Cole, Jordyn and Brooklyn Turner; and Greg & Beth's children: Delaney

and Madelyn Alix.

 


Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Kliebenstein; parents, Emory

and Charlotte (Slack) Johnsen; sister, Donna (Charles) Horne, and sister-in-law,

Dorothy (Clyde) Martineau.

 


Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Melby Funeral Home

and Crematory in Platteville, Wisconsin. Friends and family may call from 9:00 AM until
