Obituary

Lawrence D. “Larry” Mueller, 69, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.  Private family services will be held at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery, Darlington.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Larry was born on September 9, 1955, in Darlington, Wisconsin, son of John and Betha (Skattum) Mueller.  He was united in marriage to Nancy Bauerly-Ihm on June 7, 1996, at Grandview United Methodist Church, Dubuque.   Larry graduated from Darlington High School.  He received his bachelor's degree from UW-Platteville, and later his master's in business from University of Dubuque.  Larry was an entrepreneur and a “Jack of all trades”.  He worked in construction built airplanes and could fix anything and was never afraid of taking on a challenge.  Over the years, he drove bus and truck.  He had his pilot's license and was an active member of EAA Chapter 327 of Dubuque.  He also was very musically inclined.

Larry is survived by his wife, Nancy; five children, Jamie (Bradley) Kramer, Lindy (Kevin Zart) Mueller, Joshua (Katie) Mueller, Loren Ihm and Ryan Ihm, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, mother, Betha (Jerry Wagner) Mueller, sister, Susan (Mike Widner) Mueller, brothers, Steve (Vicki) Mueller and Alan (Ann) Mueller, and mother-in-law, Josephine Bauerly.  He was preceded in death by his father, granddaughter, Felicity and father-in-law John “Jack” Bauerly.

So truly sorry to learn of Larry's passing. Frank has always enjoyed conversing with him about a variety of topics. Our random "bumping into each other" was always a treat. Sympthy to your family.
