Jody Michael Pearce, 43, of Platteville, WI, died on May 8, 2021 at home of natural causes. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Platteville Free Methodist Church. Rev. Jeff Suits will officiate. Jody was born on February 9, 1978 in Streator, Illinois, son of Diane L. Pearce. She preceded him in death, March 31, 2019. Jody graduated from Platteville High School and then attended Southwest Tech, receiving his culinary degree. His favorite job was the many years he worked at JOY88/WJTY in Lancaster. Jody had great respect for his manager at A&W, with all of the patience and guidance he was granted by Mike.

Jody loved the Lord and spent many Sundays worshiping with the congregation of Iglesia Hispania Evangelica, Darlington, Wisconsin, with his mom. He enjoyed playing his bass guitar as part of the Platteville Free Methodist Worship Team Sunday mornings. Jody had an amazing memory, especially for music, movies, and books. He could hear a song and tell you the name of the song and the artist. Jody wore black in honor of Johnny Cash, one of his favorites. He enjoyed doing imitations and puns, like his Grandpa Pearce. Jody had a lifelong love of trains and had several collections, starting with Thomas as a small boy. More recently, Jody started playing disc golf with friends. He loved dogs and was sad when he couldn't keep Sandy after moving. Jody loved people, was proud of his hispanic heritage, speaking Spanish as the opportunity presented itself and enjoyed road trips to see any train. He will be missed by many.

Jody is survived by his Uncle Alan Pearce of Anderson, South Carolina; cousins, Alan, daughter Amelia and Tim (Melissa) Pearce; his Platteville Free Methodist Church Family; close friends, Brad and Emily Mowry, Brennan and Jenna Mowry He was preceded in death by his cousin Alan's wife, Laura Marie Pearce; and maternal grandparents, Pastor LeRoy and Mildred Pearce.

I don't have a clue who to direct my sympathy to. I believe he has an Uncle Alan. I worked with Diane for years at Grays Nursing Home. I visited her when it became necessary for her to be placed in a Nursing Home in Lascaster. I talked with jodie any time I had the opportunity.. I am devastated to say the least and in a bit of shock. So whoever might be out there related to Jodie, I am throughly sorry and offer my condolences.

Jody attended Word of Life a few times over the years, and we had a good time together participating in a men's conference in Oklahoma. I'm glad we took the time to visit a school in Tulsa that was used in a movie important to Jody. His dry humor and punny wit were challenging and amusing. I'm glad to have known Jody. Wish it could have been longer. Until we see each other again, blessings.
