Obituary

Jerry R. Roh, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024, at Edenbrook Manor in Platteville, WI, at the age of 80. Born on May 12, 1944, in Muscoda, WI, Jerry's life was characterized by his humor, generosity, and determination, touching the lives of all who knew him.

Jerry grew up in Muscoda, where he attended Muscoda High School, laying the foundation for a lifetime of community involvement and entrepreneurship. He was a man of many talents and interests, which led him to own and operate several local businesses in Platteville, including Gentlemen's Quarters clothing store, Spirits Unlimited, and Roh's Auto Mart. His business acumen and commitment to customer service made him a respected figure in the local business community.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jerry was a man who loved the simple pleasures of life. He took great pride in working in his yard, planting flowers that would bloom into a kaleidoscope of colors, bringing joy to everyone who passed by. His passion for antique cars was more than just a hobby; it was a way of connecting with fellow enthusiasts. Jerry could often be found at antique car shows, proudly displaying his own vintage cars, sharing stories, and forming lasting friendships.

Jerry's sense of humor was as vibrant as his flower garden. He had a unique ability to light up a room with laughter, making every gathering a memorable one. His generous spirit was evident not only in his charitable actions but also in the way he gave of himself to his family and friends. He was a thoughtful individual, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand to those in need.

Family was the cornerstone of Jerry's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Shelly Roh of Platteville; his devoted children, Lisa Roh of Platteville, and Jason (Chris) Roh  of Park City, UT; beloved grandchildren, Lexi, Jacob, Molly and Maddy. He was a cherished brother to Ron (Jodene) Roh  of Muscoda, WI, and Ken (Sandy) Roh  of Deerfield, WI. He also leaves behind a dear sister-in-law, Marge Roh.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Helen Roh, his beloved first wife, Shirley (Murray) Roh in 2011, and his brother, Jim Roh. Jerry's legacy of love and laughter will be carried on through the lives of his family.

We honor the memory of Jerry R. Roh, a man who was not just the life of the party but the heart of his community. As we lay him to rest in the soil of Platteville, the town that he loved and served, we know that his spirit will continue to blossom in the lives of those he touched. Jerry's laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering spirit will be remembered always.
