Jeanette was born Nov. 29, 1940 to Vincent and Delores Houtakker. She attended Vickers Country School and graduated from Belmont High School in 1959. She married Gerald L. Bockhop, of Belmont, on June 11, 1960.

After farming for many years in Belmont Township, she earned an associates degree in business from SWTC, Fennimore. Jeanette was always on the go. She enjoyed her part-time job as a financial clerk in UW-Platteville Cashier's Office for 24 years. Then she would drive to Dodgeville where she worked in the evening in Order Services for Lands' End for 30 years.

Jeanette never desired the spotlight and would instead focus on the activities and achievements of others. At home, family was important. She enjoyed her family life and was proud of her children's, grandchildren's, and their partners' achievements and career successes.
