Evelyn Wiegel

Evelyn V. Wiegel, age 82, of Belmont, WI, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Monday, July 29, 2024.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate.  Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Wisconsin.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Evelyn was born December 13, 1941, in Council Hill, IL, a daughter to Russell and Inez (Cliff) Wills.  Evelyn was a member of St. Philomena Church and the Council of Catholic Women. She attended Scales Mound High School.  Evelyn was a homemaker and later attended Capri Cosmetology College.  She enjoyed being a beautician and conversing with clients so much, she didn't retire until age 80. Other joys in her life were gardening and thrift shopping.

Survivors include, five children, Debbie (Harry) Blackbourn, Shullsburg, WI, Jeff (Vicki) Wiegel, Zachary, LA, Mike (Penny) Wiegel and Tracy Wiegel, both of Belmont, WI, and Brad (Patty) Wiegel, Shullsburg, WI, thirteen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, with one arriving in December,  her sister, Carol Ohms, Scales Mound, IL, sister-in-law, Ann Knautz, Galena, IL, and brother-in-law Bill Davis, Galena, IL, along with numerous extended family and friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter in infancy, sisters Marilyn (Eugene) Ohms, Norma Davis and one in infancy; brothers Kenneth Wills and Harlan Wills, brother-in law Herman Ohms.
