Obituary
Elaine H. Uppena, 89, of Potosi, WI died Tuesday, August 12, 2025. A memorial mass will be at Noon Friday, August 22, 2025, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, WI. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 AM -11:30 AM, where a time of sharing will be held before the service at noon. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Elaine was born on March 19, 1936, in Cassville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Herman and Helen (Hampton) Dresen. Elaine was united in marriage to Jerome Uppena on January 9, 1973, in Lancaster, WI. She worked at Caradco Battery Factory, then went on to care for the elderly. Elaine enjoyed playing cards, marbles, bingo, baking and canning with her family. Elaine had a heart of gold, a mischievous personality. She especially loved to play and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a fan of country music, races, the Packers and Badgers. Elaine was a member of the St. Andrews-Thomas Catholic Church where she served in the parish council and was active in CCW.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jerry, children, Mike (Tina) Uppena, Debbie (Doug) Dressler and Joe (Amy Cooley) Uppena, grandchildren, Cody (Courtney) Uppena, Breanna (Korie Gafeller) Uppena, Brittany (Braydon) Barth, Justin Brogley, Kayla (Ryan) Sylla, Jennifer (Sean McVay) Brogley, Elizabeth (Brad) Schneider, Eric (Elizabeth) Dressler, Libertie Uppena, Delanie Uppena, Bailie Uppena, Ashley (Dallas) Bernhardt and Adam Shanley; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Riley, Remington, Ryker, Rigley, Ayden, Ariel, Aurora, Eli, Braelyn, Lily, Remy, and Wrenley; brother, Dennis (Lori) Dresen, sister-in-law, Ruth Runde; brother-in-law, William Uppena; many nieces, nephews, and special friends, Pauline Wiezorek and Cathy Pennekamp. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Helen Dresen, father and mother-in-law, Joe and Helen Uppena, sisters Arlene (Walter) Butson, Donna (Gordon) Stephens, Dorothy (Fred) Koeller and infant sister, Delores, brother, LaVern (Hazel) Dresen.
