Obituary
Earl D. Hale, 73, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 PM. Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Earl was born on July 16, 1950 in Powell, Tennessee, son of Paul and Edith (Sharp) Hale. He was united in marriage to Jackie Timmerman on August 18, 1973 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. Earl graduated from Platteville High School, class of 1968, and later technical school. Earl worked for the Platteville Police Department and then began Earl Hale Trucking, where he was a long haul truck driver for many years. He was a Mason. As a young man he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He especially enjoyed classic cars, model cars, playing solitaire, and doing crossword puzzles.
Earl is survived by his wife, Jackie; three children, James Hale, Amy (Ralph) Carley, and Ryan (Lindsey) Hale; six grandchildren; Ethan, Kierstin, and Kaylee Carley, Crista Hale, Isabella and Benjamin Adams; two sisters, Elaine Manuel, and Paula (Joel) Kuecker; one brother, Carl (Carolyn) Hale and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
