Obituary

Brenda Lee Harrington, 57, of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025. She was born December 5, 1967, in Madison, the daughter of Daniel and Marsha (Dailey) Harrington Sr.

Brenda graduated from Madison East High School in 1986. As a teen, she brought smiles to many while working at an ice cream stand and later did janitorial work at Camp Randall. She spent several years doing daycare in the Madison area, always caring for others.

Her true joy came from life's simple pleasures. She loved fishing, biking, strolling down Willy Street, traveling with Louie, and occasionally visiting museums. Brenda's gentle spirit and love of the little things left a lasting impact.

She is survived by her special friend, Louis “Louie” Mohlmann; sons, John (Mary) Harrington and Matthew Harrington; grandchildren, Gabriel, Lillie, Emery, and Jex; mother, Marsha Harrington; sister, Tina Harrington; nieces, Katelyn and Seara (Zach) Harrington; and great-niece, Rylan. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Sr.; brother, Daniel Jr.; and sister, Peggy.

Through organ and tissue donation, Brenda continues to help others in one final act of kindness. Services celebrating Brenda's life will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate.  Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Wisconsin, at a later date.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

She is a big party of my childhood memories. She helps my love of animals. We spent many weekends walking around Mazo. I think of her and the boys often.

I only met with Brenda a couple times in regards to her house in Rewey. She was very friendly and we talked occasionally thru FB during special times for her family or for mine. My heart goes out to Louie, and Brenda’s family, sending prayers in this time of need.

John and Matt, I don’t know if you remember me but I sure remember you. All that I really want to say is that your mom loved both of you dearly. Never did any of her actions or words indicate anything different. Please know that as time passes and hopefully find some peace in that. I’ve heard about some of your struggles triumphs throughout the years and am so proud of both of you. JR is gone now, but both him and his brother, Joey, never spoke any words about you that weren’t kind and respectful. You were good friends to everyone back then. And good people still. My deepest deepest sympathies. Jean
