Obituary

Beverly B. Dunbar, 90, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Thursday, May 20, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Memorials may be made to the Beverly B. Beverly was born on November 12, 1930 in Paris Township, Grant County, daughter of Irvin and Blanche (McClain) Brown. She was united in marriage to Charles “Sonny” Dunbar on June 21, 1948 in Spring Green, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2005. Bev and Sonny owned and operated Sonny and Bev's Tavern, Platteville, for almost 20 years. She later worked at Culver's and Golden Gate restaurant, Platteville. Bev was a volunteer at the Platteville Senior Center. She always enjoyed a good game of cards, especially euchre.

Beverly is survived by her children, Belinda (Derek) Allender, Jacalyn (Leroy) Schmieder, Dan (Debra) Dunbar, Randy Dunbar and Deanna Dunbar; son-in-law, Jim Auel; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Gloria Auel, her parents, brothers, Laurel, and Irvin “Buck” Brown, and sisters, Mona Cook and Diane Jongebloed.

Bev was a joy to work with during the years I worked with her at Culver's. She always came to work with a wonderful attitude, and she showed the younger employees what motivation and hard work really was. Her customer service was top notch and her smile was genuine. Thank you for those memories, Bev!! I treasure them!

our sympathy and condolonces to bevs family and all i knew some of ur children was in school with some of them too i knew bev well sas a customer at the restraunt at garden gate she was always well liked and will be missed dearly may our good lord watch over her and ur hubby now that their together and that our good lord watch over the rest of the family god bless.
