Barbara Ann Peterson, 81 of Platteville, WI died on April 18, 2024. She was born the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (Bolvin) Fisher of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, November 20, 1942. After graduating from High School, Barbara attended Medical Technician School in Cleveland, Ohio and became a Phlebotomist. She worked as a Phlebotomist for 10 years in Bradford, Pennsylvania and in New Jersey. On June 12, 1965, Barbara married Carl Peterson. Carl's job moved them throughout the United States and around the world. The family moved to Platteville in 1979. Barbara and Carl owned and ran the Village Bikesmith. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed collecting coins.
Barbara is survived by her husband Carl, children Christine (Christopher Goodney) Peterson, Marion, Alexander, Benjamin and Roger (Abbie Lehman) Peterson, two grandchildren, Erica (Jesse) Herr and Ethan (Morgan) Glasson, six great-grandchildren, Judah, Elijah, Ezekial and Ivy Herr, Rosalie and Nora Glasson; sister, Becky Fisher and brothers, David and Carl Fisher. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Peterson, her parents, brothers Ed and Dan and sister Dorothy.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville, WI. Father Greg Ihm Will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:30 AM on Wednesday at the church. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
