Barb attended a one-room schoolhouse in Mifflin and graduated from Rewey High School in 1943. She furthered her education at the Wisconsin State College in Platteville and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

Barb was a dedicated and well-loved teacher for 49 years. She began her teaching career in 1947 and enjoyed sharing stories of her time in a one-room schoolhouse where she taught kindergarten through 8th grade. She retired from education in 1996 after teaching first grade for 32 years at Westview Elementary School in Platteville. During this time, Barb made a positive impact on countless lives and many generations of students throughout the community. Barb always delighted in the childhood memories of former students who would stop to talk with her. She was a supporter of the armed forces and was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution. Barb had many hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sharing her love of travel with her grandchildren, cooking/baking, and was a proud season ticket holder to the UW-Platteville Pioneer basketball games. Barb loved and cherished time spent with her family and friends. She attended numerous events across the state that were important to her family. She was always seen in the audience cheering them on.

Barb was married in 1947 and was the loving mother of Julie (Rod) Gallagher. Dear grandmother of Amy (Keith) Medema, Angie (Dave) Brahm, and Christopher (Jackie) Faherty. Proud great-grandmother of Wesley, Nicholas, Madelynn Barbara, Caroline, George, Emerson, and Joette. Further loved by sister-in-law Ruth Enloe, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Enloe and infant sister, Vera Enloe.

Barb lived a long and happy life. She will be greatly missed, but will live on in all the people she impacted who carry a little piece of her with them.

The family expresses appreciation to Dr. White and his team, Agrace Hospice, Our House, and Teresa.
