Obituary

Amanda Ruth (Klinkhammer) Weigel, 37, of Dickeyville, Wisconsin, formerly of Platteville, died on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, after a battle with brain cancer. Through the gift of organ donation Amanda will live on helping others.  Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Friends may call from 4:00 PM until the time of the service on Thursday.  Online condolences can be made at  www.melbyfh.com.

Amanda was born on June 29, 1986, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Mike and Karen (Kabele) Klinkhammer.  She was united in marriage to Andrew Weigel on August 10, 2013, at Katie's Garden, Platteville.  Amanda graduated from Platteville High School, class of 2005, where she was very active in softball.  After graduating she received her CNA from SWTC, Fennimore.  She worked as a CNA and later for Country Care Day Care, Dickeyville.  She always enjoyed playing softball after high school, camping and fishing.  She loved her dog, Harley.

Amanda is survived by her husband, Andrew; parents, Mike and Karen Klinkhammer; brothers, Jason Klinkhammer and Travis (Rachel) Klinkhammer; half-brother, Michael Klinkhammer; grandma Ann; father and mother-in-law, Tim and Tilly Weigel; brother and sister-in-law, Jon (Lindsey) Weigel; nieces and nephew, Harleigh Klinkhammer, and Savannah and Weston Weigel; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leonard and Alberta Kabele, and Jesse and Ruth Klinkhammer.

Amanda was so sweet to our son at Country Care. She made the transition to the center so easy for our son. We knew he was always in great hands. She will forever be remembered. Sending our prayers to you during this difficult time.
