Alex J. Abing, 27, of Waunakee, formerly of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at UW – Hospitals & Clinics, Madison, from injuries sustained in a car accident. Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alex J. Abing Memorial Fund. Alex was born on June 18, 1992 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Wayne and Kris (Duggan) Abing. He graduated from Platteville High School in 2010. After high school, Alex worked at UW-Platteville doing maintenance work, he also held various other jobs, but he most enjoyed doing landscaping. Alex had a passion for drawing and taught himself to tattoo at a young age which led to him working at Bad Cat Tattoo in Platteville for a short time. Alex also loved to go fishing, bowling, listening to music, especially Tech N9ne, and traveling to Florida. Alex had a great sense of humor and was a very selfless person, he would help anybody at at time, which led way to him being a devoted father and uncle, he absolutely loved spending time with his children and his nieces and nephews.
Alex is survived by his parents, Wayne and Kris Abing; fiance, Jen O'donnell; children, Elijah Abing – Baye, Ella Abing, Ethan Abing, Lilah Abing, and Autumn and Elaina Reible; his brothers, Adam (fiance, Danielle Hugill) Abing and Eric Abing; grandmothers, Beth Duggan and Marilyn Abing; nieces and nephews, Macayla, Kalli, Nevaeh, Kaden, and Khloe Abing; and many loving aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Merle Duggan and Vince Abing.
