Ada was born on January 3, 1919 in Potosi Township, the daughter of William and Cecelia (Holzer) Pennekamp. She was united in marriage to Donald Osterholz on July 2, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2001. Ada and Don farmed together in the Platteville area for 27 years. After retiring from farming, Ada became a child care provider. Ada was a very faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville, where she was a member of the CCW and the Ministry of Praise group. Ada also was a member of the Christopher Splinter Ladies of the Auxiliary Post. She enjoyed playing bingo, especially going on the Bingo bus, embroidery, and visiting the senior center when she was able. She also enjoyed her time spent on the bench at Piggly Wiggly where she'd have the opportunity to visit with those coming and going.
Ada is survived by three children, Dale (Louise) Osterholz, Rita Osterholz, and Diane Obershaw; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Osterholz; eight grandchildren, Jeff Krause, Mike (Kacy) Krause, Jennifer (Jeff) Ring, Debbie (Jody) Gilligan, Chris (Cate) Osterholz, Amanda Obershaw, Molly (Jeremy) Donar, and Heather (fiance, Riley Speed) Obershaw; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson due in April; brother, Ralph (Sally) Pennekamp; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; son, Marv; son-in-law, Dave Obershaw; great-grandson, Mitchel Krause; nine siblings; and many brothers and sisters-in-law. The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice, especially nurse DeAnna, who gave exceptional love and care to Ada in her last days.
