Obituary

Mary Lou Voigts, 87, of Platteville died on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Gray's Nursing Home, Platteville. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mary Lou was born on May 17, 1928 in Platteville, Wisconsin, daughter of Alvie and Mary (Hull) Rieser. She was united in marriage to Arnold F. Voigts on May 22, 1971 at the Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2010. She worked at the Burgess Battery Factory, Platteville. She and Arnold enjoyed country western music. Mary Lou is survived by brother-in-law, Guerdon Voigts and sisters-in-law, Roselyn Voigts, Lorene Klinge, Velma Masbruch, and Lucille Kies and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three sisters, Doris Jenks, Lucille Wunderlin, and Elva Hodgson.

My deepest sympathy on the death of MaryLou. I really loved that little lady and we could joke around. My fondest memory of her is that she actually knew the song "Hello MARYLOU. My husband made a CD of it and we would play it often. She would sing along. R.I.P. I'm sure Elsa is waiting with open arms for you. Prayers to her family. She will always be in my memories.
