Christine Ann Allen-Manthey, 63, of Harlingen, TX, passed away at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, on Sunday, January 3, 2016, after being hit by a car on December 28. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2015 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Deacon Bill Bussan will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Christine Ann Allen-Manthey Memorial Fund. Christine was born in Platteville on October 22, 1952 to Patrick W. and Geneva (Henry) Cullen, the second of nine children. She attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Platteville High School in 1970. She then attended UW-Platteville. In 1972 she married Roger Allen of Rewey, WI. They had a daughter, Angela in 1973 and a son, Michael in 1976. Roger and Angela both died in an auto accident on May 1, 1976 in Anamosa, IA. In 1982 she had her second son, Shane. Christine met Dewain Manthey of Dubuque, IA, in 1994; they were then married in 2001 and moved to Harlingen, TX. Dewain preceded her in death in 2008. Christine was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 439 of LaFeria, TX. She also served as vice president of the Adams Park Board. She enjoyed euchre and karaoke. A memorial service was held at the American Legion Lodge in LaFeria, where friends and relatives attended. Chaplain Kathy Billington officiated.
Christine is survived by her sons, Michael Allen (Barb Reinsbach) of Platteville; Shane (Jessica) Prescott of Columbus, WI; three grandchildren, Caleb, Patrick, and Raylee Prescott; her mother, Geneva M. Cullen (Diwiatt Barker) of Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Ron (Linda) of Cape Coral, FL; Kelly (Amy Frey Garza) of Ballanger, TX; Kevin (Wendy) of Belmont; Brian (Barry Tamminga) of Monroe, WI; Brent of Shullsburg; sisters, Cindy (Mike) Symons of McFarland, WI; Lori (Paras) Reddy of Platteville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roger and Dewain; daughter, Angela; father, Patrick W. Cullen in 2002; and brother, Paul Cullen in 2013.
